Second Irish Born Protestant Ancestor |
William O'Kelley
or Liam Ó Ceallaigh |
|
William O'Kelley was likely born about 1590 to 1595 and he
is found in "The History of County Monaghan" on page 178 as a
Gentleman who protected the protestants at Carrickmacross during
the 1641 Irish Rebellion. He, wife, and family are again
mentioned in a letter on page 268 proclaiming their good deeds
during that revolt. I suspect he may have moved ot
Carrickmacross in 1640 as on page 571 we find William receiving land
taken from a Papist. |
